Never underestimate the power of a well placed bit of cartoon magic; each season Riccardo Tisci comes up with at least one Givenchy must have that makes a splash and for the last few months its been all about Bambi. The opening look of the designer’s critically lauded fall collection was a Disney inspired sweatshirt that added touch of twee to the typically hard-edged Givenchy look and instantly became a cult status symbol. The signature piece has been making waves in magazines of late with the Bambi shirt appearing on the cover of Vogue Japan, the newly launched Miss Vogue Australia, Vogue China and Madame Figaro, not to mention inside appearances in i-D Magazine & V Magazine. Add in the fact that this little number has also been spotted on the backs of everyone from Beyoncé Knowles to Carine Roitfeld and you have the makings of a moment.
