Valentino Vision
January 3rd, 2012 Janelle comments (37)The romantic vision of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s spring Valentino collection is brought to life by Deborah Turbeville for the brand’s latest campaign. With Georgia O’Keefe and Tina Modotti as inspirations, Chiuri & Piccioli looked to create “a fantasy setting for a new poetic femininity.” Shot in Mexico, the images featuring Bette Franke, Fei Fei Sun, Zuzanna Bijoch, Maud Welzen & Clement Chabernaud are as ethereal and beautiful as we’ve come to expect from Turbeville and serve as the perfect showcase for Chiuri & Piccioli’s decadently feminine designs.

i love better franke, so happy for her comeback! she is soo down to earth, seeing her cycling her bike at hudson river is fun thing! but this resto of the model crowd. little effort. its sad those girls just do for the money, the love of being a model is gone… posing for deborah turbeville i mean why they didnt put sasha, daria w,,or linda evangelista, a model who love to be model and know for who they pose for…

@ Someone,
how do you know if Sasha, Daria and Linda don’t do it for the money either.
It was Linda who said: ‘I don’t get out of bed for less than 10k’ or something like that.
Lovely ad with lovely models. Very fresh

@anabele, its obvious your carrier in fashion is 10days. its true Linda said the 10000usd thing. but she LOVED TO BE A MODEL! Karl Lagerfeld said, she would jump out of a window if she knew she made a great picture… She do for the money as well but with love and interest…She knew she wanted to model since 12years old…There is no shine in this models… I agree with Helena Christensen in the film Rue Fabourg where she says: Iam tired of this shoots, there is no emotion in there…I think we have enough girls of the moment that we put in the past every 6months. We need longevity…

A beautiful campaign, and really fresh. It is nice to see something new for a change. I am not diminishing other people’s work, but at the same time, there is so much of the same going on in ads that they lose their power, there is a lack of variety. One of the things that makes creativity interesting is diversity: in aesthetic, casting, layout… and that is what makes this series stand out to me.

@ someone,
I agree that modelling has changed in time, just look at some of the girls in the top 50 *cough*.
Blank fillers and socialite ‘models’.
But that doesnt apply to any of the models in this ad.
And to say such things about me is ridiculous.
You’re pretending to know about people when you obviously don’t.

Lots of you who wished this is more in your face, KAPOW, kind of stuff obviously didnt know of Turbeville’s aesthetic. Valentino chose Turbeville for that particular enigmatic photographs she is known for. Ive once read, Turbeville is about the leaving one points to think about in a photo. It’s never in your face. It’s about the mystery of it all. And I think it’s gorgeous.
I think Sun Fei Fei’s aloof beauty fits this. You look at the picture and you wonder what she’s thinking about. Very Turbeville. I wish there is a close up of Bette though. And the Maud’s one is a bit wasted she was trying to do sexy which I dont think what the concept was. Zuzanna is pretty cool too.

I LOVE this series of Valentino… Chiuri & Piccioli are bringing us through a fantastic journey through their vision of a Valentino lady… and I agree with some of you – this campaign could’ve been perfect even with FEI FEI alone!!! <3 she's absolutely stunning…
