The King & I
December 14th, 2011 Janelle comments (10)Eliza Cummings is a latter day Elvis in Camilla Akrans‘ alluring cover story, Hounddog for Contributor Magazine. With a slick pompadour and a host of Chanel looks selected by Robert Rydberg, Eliza captures all the swagger of the young king at his best.

In something like this Eliza is simply one of the best models possible. I like a lot the kind of “fierce” beauty / femininity she embodies and her outstanding attitude, which here she had the chance to express for the best.

The shots work but I wonder if the text had not told me Elvis would I have gotten it? I dare say I would not have since the poses reference shots of the King that have been featured so often in various media outlets.
Still I would appreciate a prop here or there.

This is quite stunning! The wardrobe and the model both define the era well, as well as Elvis’ effortless character and striking persona.
