Toy Story
October 11th, 2011 Janelle comments (17)As two of fashion’s most popular doll-faces Kirsi Pyrhonen and Audrey Marnay make frequent appearances in editorials that call for otherworldly beauty. In the latest Vogue Italia Tim Walker casts the duo as wind up toys, complete with marionette inspired makeup and mechanical add-ons. With a sly nod to drag legends the Cockettes, fairytale styling by Jacob K and a few puppets added for good measure, Walker creates images that are unmistakably his.

Just how impeccable is Kirsi’s portfolio becoming. I wish Ms. Alt would turn her gaze away from those washed out supers and make room in VP for some fresh talents like Kirsi.
Happy and surprised to see Audrey too, she looks so tiny next to Kirsi

This story is absolutely breathtaking. Tim Walker is a genius in taking your mind to a cmopletely different world. I would have never imagined Kirsi and Audrey in a story, but it works perfectly.

@ Marty
She did do one show, Loewe. I really really hope it was by request and a request might suggest there’s a campaign coming up, but then again one would think they would’ve had her open the show in that case.
