Pure Class
September 6th, 2011 Janelle comments (31)Sometimes an editorial doesn’t need bells and whistles to make an impact. Case in point: Vincent Peters‘ simply beautiful story for Vogue Italia featuring Isabeli Fontana. There is nothing edgy about the story, but the combination of Peters’ cinematic lighting, Valentina Serra‘s exquisite selection of clothing and Isabeli’s beauty makes for memorable images. The vintage vibe of the entire series is an interesting contrast to some of the other stories in the issue - most notably, Meisel’s avant-garde cover shoot with Stella Tennant.

This is Italian cinema at its best, think 70′s period drama movies, it recalls Visconti foremost, as well as De Sica, Bertolucci and Pasolini. Think Claudia Cardinale, Sophia Loren, Silvia Mangano or Dominique Sanda. Exquiste tragi-comic high bourgeois decadence. Love it!

Yes, this spread is reminiscent of the Karan ads, all about elegance & poise, staged to show only mild sex appeal.

Always so gorgeous; she should be an actress after modeling winds down, with that face she wouldn’t even have to know how to act. Also how rich is she? I’m seeing her in like 5 campaigns every season, that’s huge for a girl that has been around for some long. If I were a model and had my pick I’d sign with Women.

she’s one of the BEST models out there for lifestyle editorials/ads… she never fails to deliver with her natural luring charisma – so unpretentiously sensual and elegant – it doesn’t matter if she’s selling Gap’s chino pants or Louis Vuitton’s bikini, she makes everything work… not only that, she’s one of the few models that has the relatable-factor that allows other women to aspire to be like her…
