Givenchygasm
June 7th, 2011 Janelle comments (17)Riccardo Tisci‘s gothic view for Givenchy is the perfect compliment for Steven Klein‘s darkly erotic photographs and in this month’s Interview the forces combine for an engrossing editorial starring Saskia de Brauw and Guinevere Van Seenus. The Amanda Lear and Bettie Page inspired fall collection was filled with suggestive undertones and Ludivine Poiblanc selects sheer pieces that seem designed to titillate. Julien d’Ys‘s larger than life anime hair styles and Stephane Marais‘s bold makeup, give the story an added sense of whimsy, but nothing (not even a backdrop of crushed cars) can take our eyes off of those Tisci creations.

Such powerful images!!! A real editorial, strong and dramatic! A ugly side of beauty! Loved it!

This is beautiful! Just the right amount of sex and violence that doesn’t take away from the clothes. Tisci is Givenchy.

This is a editioral for real.
kinda hot.
no words can explain, I don’t know if Steven Misele could have putted off a shoot like this. Only Klein could do something so extrem as Saski, and her pubic hairs

The solo shot of Sakia is brilliant, but I just wish she had some drawers on. I unfortunately can’t unsee that.

Yes, Steven Klein is the master of the dark side of fashion photography.. I must confess I’ve always looked forward to his work more than Meisel’s.

What a shoot. I love the use of lighting in this editorial. Not overly harsh like many shoots we see today.
My only criticism is the bush. It’s a bit… too bushy.
