VMan is dedicated to pushing mens fashion forward. The Summer 09 edition gives us a taste of what’s to come for fall and focuses on the designers committed to bringing menswear into the forefront – Rick Owens, Riccardo Tisci, Rei Kawakubo and  Raf Simons, just to name a few. Terry Tsiolis creates an edgy portfolio celebrating fashion on the fringe and models Joseph Culp, Kyle Saunders, Julian Hennig, Andrey Ivanov, Devin Childers, Tomek Szczukiecki, Danny Schwarz, William Eustace, Mikus Lasmanis, Keith Browning & Ludwig P are all enlisted to add attitude. The clothes may be designer but Jay Massacrets savvy styling is all about the youthful eccentricity of street culture.

These boys need to go away. MEN MEN MEN, not 16 year old BOYS BOY BOYS P-L-E-A-S-E. They can’t even afford what they model. They don’t drive the men’s market so why are they the sick rail thin face of men’s fashion.

  5. yumpopink says:

because youth sells and they are beautiful? Fashion hasn’t reflected its demographic since the 50s which is fine since the vast majority of the people who love high fashion can’t afford it anyway

“They can’t even afford what they model”

Oh give me a break! You don’t know the personal circumstances of every teenage/early twenties model! Models are generally a cross section of society … some rich, some average, some poor … So basically, don’t generalize! And most of the guys working consistently can afford some Rick Owens, Raf Simons & whatever other brands they’re modeling in this editorial.

  8. Jason says:

Enough with this kids trying to sell men products, times has change and the ones with the money nowdays are not teenagers. The economy is bad and the advertising industry needs to adjust better. Bring the real man to work!

  9. steve says:

its so funny how you all feel the need to whine about it not being older men.

Im pretty sure that since the clients hire people to approve of the models and spending for shoots, they know what theyre doing. Otherwise they would not be employed to begin with.

next time, look into something before you badmouth it.

Obviously these boys sell… and well too.

I love these photos. They’re very “of the moment”. It’s a fad and fads fade. Let this fad shine a little.
