J.Crew’s presentation may have been for fall, but the beauty look on Vanessa Cruz was the perfect glowing Spring makeup. | Ph. Betty Sze for MDC
With the season’s focus on renewal and rejuvenation, Spring is the perfect time for a beauty overhaul. The S/S runways were filled with fresh faced looks, from pastel eyes and nude lips at Preen to, cherry red lips at Viktor and Rolf and on the pulse makeup companies have created a slew of new products to bring those looks the masses. We’ve narrowed down our tried and tested favorites to create a list of easy to use products that we love.

If you’re going to invest in a lipstick, why not treat yourself to the best? Guerlain’s sleekly designed compact features a mirror that pops up for easy lipstick application on the go. Chic packaging aside, the creamy texture and lightweight feel of this lipstick make it perfect for creating that “your lips but better” look that is so popular right now.
MAC’s entire Quite Cute collection is filled with the kind of ubergirly colors that instantly catch your eye, but if we have to play favorites we’re loving shimmery blushes. The frosty texture and sheer formulation add just the right amount of glow to any look without getting into glitterball territory. For added fun take the Quite Cute concept to the next level by playing the anime inspired pinball game MAC just added to their Facebook.
Flushed cheeks are a seasonal signature, everyone wants that gorgeous look but few products really give it to you. Becca’s tints provide just the right hint of color and the creamy consistency makes them easy to apply and blend to create that gorgeous lit from within look – we love that the lines richly pigmented shades work for a wide variety of skintones.

Bright colors, high shine, fabulous texture and they smell like candy; what more could you possibly ask for in a lipgloss! Try out the bright orange, Heat Wave for a glossy take on the neon lips trend.
Clarins’ palette is perfect for creating a variety of looks; with a mix of colors ranging from natural taupes to trend conscious pinks and purples, it really offers the best of both worlds. The sheer shades are easy to apply with good staying power (we went from morning to night without having to reapply) and the sleek gold packaging fits into even the smallest Proenza clutch.
Estee Lauder Shadow Stick Duos
Nothing beats a product that makes your life simpler, the dual ended shadow sticks provide allow you to create everything from a smoky eye to a bold wash of color all over the lid in under a minute. Perfect for girls on the go and anyone who appreciates ease; be sure to grab these quickly as they are a limited edition!

Alex Box is one of our favorite makeup artists and her Illamasqua line takes her brand of colorful and bold art and translates it into something anyone can use. Their vibrant nail polish shades don’t chip and look striking on fingers and toes – colors like the electric lime, Radium are great for a little touch of daring.

I love the look of the Guerlain Rouge G. A mirror and lipstick in one, how marvelous.

I would want the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick because it looks like some sort of spy gadget I could use to both kick butt and beautify like a female 007.

Oh my, to reiterate.. I do enjoy that it (Clarins) has a “safe” and sweet pastel section, but also the subdued darker shades for a little mystery when I feel like iit!

Guerlain Rouge G lipstick, no question. I have approximately 36 lipsticks, all of which dry out my lips like mad, and don’t stay on for longer than a cocktail. I’d love to give that cheeky little accesory-make-up duo a try.

would love to try the Becca Beach Tint. i’ve always been afraid to try cheek tints, but feel this spring is the time to experiment.
