Wedded Bliss…

Vogue UK enlists Mario Testino to shoot the magazine’s first issue with 3 different covers. Natalia Vodianova, Lara Stone and , Freja Beha Erichsen grace the triple covers in frilly white dresses and soft pink makeup, but do these images conjure images of romantic revelry, or watered down beauty?

Two words…laser eyes! These are awful pictures. There is no emotion in the eyes and the forced semi-smile gives an air of someone who has just smelled something unpleasant.

  2. Emma says:

I LOVE Freja and Lara’s covers. They both look so eternal.

  3. Nik says:

Freja’s cover speaks more to me. She has something in her eyes, and although not smiling, she is still very warm. Lara and Natalia have what looks like a forced grin. A bit deer-in-headlights too, but I like the softness in all three.

  4. bryan says:

these are so awful covers. they all look so forced.

  5. D. says:

Freja’s cover is the best which is not saying much. I think Vogue could have done the royal wedding theme in a more high fashion way then looking like an average Bridal magazine.

  6. chungkit says:

Just awful. Bridal at it’s very worst.

  7. dan d says:

Lara’s too devilish for bridal, its all in the eyes

  8. raincoat says:

    Freja <3

  9. jake says:

the photos really arent great. i think freja’s is the best cover but this does not mean its a good cover, just the best of a bad bunch. laras is the worst for me. also, there is a typo in the last line: ‘beauy’

  10. Janelle says:

Beauy is a new word I’ve been trying to make catch on and…

    lol j/k

    Fixed the typo.

  11. Daniel says:

Freja defo has better cover than Lara and then Natalia…. love Freja

  12. Carlos says:

That’s not very good…. it looks cheap… to succeed to do something like this with such great girls is sad…

  13. kayleaf says:

Disappointing covers – everyone looks so awkward. Jourdan was robbed; she would have brought that regal hautness the covers needs so much.

  14. MissNicole says:

    Watered down beauty. Blegh.

  15. PeterModelObsessed says:

You got three most photogenic Supermodels in the World and these are all you got?

    Failure. No excuses.

really not good…. its testion so it doesnt shock me so much! probably wont change the fact he works so much unfortunately, these are really a waste of such an amazing opportunity, iconic models for our time and an iconic moment in the UK….

  18. TeeVanity says:

    They all look gorgeous!

  19. lu says:

This is as bad as bad can get. And shot by Mario Testino?! What a let down. Three covers, three supermodels, forced grins, and definitely deer-in-the-headlights look. And something tells me thats the look that he was going for because come on, those girls are pros. What are the odds they’d all give the same look on the cover shot?

Freja Beha Erichsen, Will you marry me?

  22. PeterModelObsessed says:

Testino ruined a wedding moment. Lol

    Daniela Pestova is that you?

  24. Gav says:

I hate freja’s cover she just looks angry rather than soft and romantic, Not particularly fond of lara’s either. someone like Anja or Jourdan would have been a lot better choices. It’s all all round snoos=ze fest concept wise too.

  25. Veljko Gavrilovic says:

Okay, this is really Vogue British. True Romance: I guess they wanted some… Disney princess… fairy tale look, but without kitsch moment. So it has to be so… pale. Totally sexless. All is full of light. And innocence. Would it be to ridiculous if I say virginity? Or… touched for the very…
    Imagine Terry Richardson here!
Anyway, Wedding Belles editorial is amazing.
Back to covers. We have roses, soft pink make up, ultra pink titles, Vivienne Westwood, Bruce Oldfield and Oscar de la Renta, and… some divine cathedral lightness (dear God, I’m crazy), and white VOGUE logo. So cliche.
    I LOVE IT.

  26. carola says:

And Jourdan would’ve been AMAZING, I can picture her on one of these covers, my God.
British Vogue really needs to get with the times, they’re still living in the 90’s. These covers plus putting Kate Moss on the cover 3 or 4 times a year is just so old-fashioned.

  27. Joe says:

The lighting is so unflattering . Very unattractive covers which is strange considering you have three of the most beautiful women on planet here

  28. marvoi says:

only freja looks good because the G is not in the middle of her forehead!

  29. James says:

i love Freja but i hate all of the covers. The heads at British (and US) Vogue aren’t doing their jobs properly, as they are the only two Vogues I DON’T buy. and I’m British!

  30. Zyx Raxie says:

    I <3 Freja's cover..
out of the three its is the only one whose doesn't look forced.. it looked ethereal..

  31. karrie says:

freja and lara, which one i should buy??

  32. Louisa says:

Unfortunately this isn’t nearly as good as it could have been 🙁 That weird half smile really isn’t working for any of them which is a real shame because these three are some of the best in the biz!

  33. Avon says:

Love the softness in Lara’s eyes…and Freja looks so feminine:D

  34. matt says:

Just horrible covers….All of them looks just awful…Shame why they cant get Anja on the cover…she could be perfect!

  35. Anjali says:

It’s always Freja for me. It’s amazing a rock chick like her can pull off such a soft romantic look.

  36. annie hoelund says:

The 3 girls all so beautiful. My favorite Freja the nordich beauty, is a little more cute and charming, she is my choice…..

  37. Ivona says:

Natalia is my fave..The prettiest woman on earth!!

  38. Nick says:

Yeah their boring, but to saw awful, horrible etc is a bit much calm down

  39. Fanny says:

Boring. How aboout a really big smile?

  40. Marty says:

I know ! They are all giving half way smiles. I wanted to see cheet and exicment, But it was still nice that they thought of something so cool to do the cover about ! 😀

  41. Nigel S. says:

  42. poo says:

I assumed the expressions were meant to convey that of a slightly awkward and hesitant virgin bride. More Diana than Katie.

  43. Auntie May says:

  44. Shin says:

Natalia is such a gorgeous girl and I wish they would choose a more livelier cover than this! I mean, a wedding cover is supposed to be full of smiles and laughter…but it looks like she’s marrying someone she doesn’t love.

  45. Mia says:

I agree! Forced. Look at the expression… why Vogue? lol

  46. PeterModelObsessed says:

Faces like Anne V, Erin Heatherton or Controversial Victoria’s Secret Supermodel Candice Swanepoel will do a good job doing the smiley, Glowey and happy brides…….

Lara, and Freja are unconventional beauties.

Right Casting and Right Lighting will result to great covers!

  47. Aylin Reckermann says:

I don’t get it. You have Mario, Natalia, Lara and Freja and the result is this????

  48. PeterModelObsessed says:

These made Kate Moss UK Bazaar cover a Mona Lisa.

    Mario T losing his Touch?

  49. Rae says:

Freja looks sublime, angelic yet with an air of mischief. Epitome of versatility. I hope there are enoguh of Freja’s cover edition. On that note, Lara’s unabashed feminity speaks through while Natasha is such a doll.

If I were to pick one, Freja’s it would be. Not one, but as many as I could get. Gorgeous.
