Women In Love
April 23rd, 2009 Janelle comments (16)An impassioned romance was the theme behind Karmen Pedaru & Abbey Lee Kershaw’s colorful Guy Bourdin influenced Numero Korea cover story. Photographer Mariano Vivanco captured the two beauties looking seductive and very enamored with one another. Abbey whispers sweet nothings in Karmen’s ear, they exchange sideways glances and little touches – it’s all very pseudo-sapphic but can you feel the heat?

in the 1st pic, abbey lee resembles natasha poly a lot. and it’s interesting that they both have been Frida’s favorite for seasons.

They look good, but I think trying to recreate something as iconic as Guy Bourdin is tricky. When it’s done like this, it looks a bit weak. Like a catalogue version of Guy Bourdin. But they look good even tho the pics aren’t all that great.

wow, karmen looks incredible with the red hair. i hadn’t heard that she’d changed colours, and even though she’s the 3rd girl now to go with that shade, it doesn’t look lame at all. it looks fresh on her. much better than vlada’s shade. (i DO love vlada, mind you. just think the copper red pulls out the circle under her eyes and washes her out.)

THEY ARE AMAZING. YOU CAN FEEL THE SEDUCTION OF THEM. THE HAVE STYLE, BEAUTY, GREAT MAKE UP AND FASHION CLOTHES.
FROM MY POINT OF VIEW, THERE ARE A LOT OF IMPORTANT THINGS, ONE OF THEM IS TO SHINE BETWEEN THE CROWD, ISN’T IT?

Hate to break it to you, but there is nothing “lesbian” about this. It’s totally passion-less, and not convincing in the least.
They look more shell-shocked than seductive. “Whispering sweet nothings”? I think not!

Agree with Poo and Sophie M. In the words of Karl Lagerfeld “I’m not that impressed” this is bootleg Bourdin if anything. It doesn’t capture the quirkiness of his photographs. You can put colorful makeup on the models and shoot them in a colorful setting, but that doesn’t mean it will capture what Bourdin did. This unfortunately did not.
