Spring Forward!
April 15th, 2009 Janelle comments (27)
Arlenis Sosa is front and center on the cover of Vogue Germany. The elegant Dominican beauty poses in rose colored Lanvin for Alexi Lubomirski on the cover of the May issue. In addition to the inherent prettiness of the spring themed cover, this issue represents the first time a woman of color has been on the cover of Vogue Germany since Naomi Campbell graced the pages way back in 2004.

Hi Mikel,
I didn’t count Liya’s cover since there were multiple covers that month but yes I suppose she would be another to add to the list of women of color featured by Vogue Germany.

She is beautiful… Always liked her eye contact from day 1. Despite the little hiccup in the teeth area (it looks like she got a little snaggle tooth going there and i know she has perfect teeth!), she still looks beautiful. Congrats to her.

She is black and Hispanic. You can be both; there are plenty of black people throughout Latin America.

lol! she does look like a very young Dominican version of Claudia Schiffer. I’m very proud of her.
She is a true LATINA!… I’m african/brazilian/cuban and I still came out her color. so For me she and seslesile Lopez represents all the darker Latinos that I can relate to. Now if I can see I dark Brazillian mashing through Vogue, then I will completely cool. Well, I the beauty Emanuela De Paula…But someone fresh….. Arlenis go go go girl! vaya chica!

I just can’t stop looking at this cover. Whether I hold it in my hands or see it here… It’s just so beautiful. I like the background especially and….. just everything about it. Arlenis is one of my favourites anyway
