The Future…
November 24th, 2010 Janelle comments (53)Can you believe it is already time for 2011 magazines? The new Vogue Nippon gives us a stunning image of Gisele Bundchen by Mario Sorrenti, but what else will 2011 bring to the world of magazines? Leave a comment telling us what you’d like to see more of in magazines in the upcoming year.

And speaking of the future, take a peak at Vogue Paris’ 2011 calendar by Mikael Jansson featuring Daria Werbowy; It doesn’t get hotter than this.

I’d like to see new(er) girls and established girls to book more eds and ads. We all see Gisele, Raquel, Kate and Daria on the cover of this and that magazine and have campaigns for big brands, but they are/are becoming boring for me. Besides, they already got enough publicity and money.
I’d like to see some fresh new girls with a different look. Also more work for the underrated models.

Gisele is perfect !
I want more super models in 2011
super models together in editorial

I’d love to see a replacement for W… Stefano’s W doesn’t do it for me.
Oh and of course I’d love to see a better American menswear printed publication that focuses on editorial.

Gisele’s bone structure is impeccable! She looks stunning. I want to see more group type stuff in the new year. I miss the 90s when models did all kinds of group eds,ad campaigns, cover shoots together. Its so boring just seeing the same high fashion model after high fashion model getting all the ad campaigns and covers and blue chip eds. mix it up. old and new. More Supermodels!

More models on covers, models on covers, models on covers and did I say models on covers?? so sick of the actresses and singers taking the models jobs. I hope that changes in the new year. I dont care if its Daria,Freja,Kate,Gisele. that is their job and they do it better than any actress can. that is my only wish. Less VS models too. They have proven to be mediocre/bad models and can only sell their lingerie shots, not fashion. Minus KK. more kk and candice would be nice.

I’m not really a fan of the cover…it looks a bit draggish. Although I’m glad Gisele’s back. I’d love to see more models of colour on covers and ad campaigns – especially Ms. Jourdan Dunn and Ms. Melodie Monrose!

Gisele looks amazing!!
For 2011 i don’t know, because all the magazines has their own editorial line, for example Elle shows like real clothes on healthy girls and more ready to wear, for me that’s boring, I like drama on magazines for example I love the ed with Steven and La MCMENAMY inspires on the Gulf of Mexico situation for Vogue Italia, I like when fashion magaziones are aware on what is going on the world.
I would that one magazine makes an issue which editorials are made in a country in especific, for example go to Egypt and do all the editorial in that country, they could show different enviroments, not only a studio. Maybe Vogue Italia..

I think black models are sometimes strange. If there’s black models in a campaign they always have strange hair, I’d like to see more natural black hair. The girls even loose their forehead hair due to so much chemical products and hair pulling.

more gisele would be nice. back to only high fashion…more Linda,Cindy,Christy,Helena,Stephanie.etc..there wasnt enough of the Supers in 2010!!! Sexy models again for Versace. No more little girls in brands like that hopefully.

both imagines are awesome… i suppose id like to see less clutter on the covers sometimes they look sloppy as if they just squeezed as much info as possible onto one page and id also like to see ME in there lol! kidding

For 2011, I would like to see Sessilee back on/in Vogue Italia. She was really great in 2008. I would love to see Daria again as a prime editorial/covergirl again. Seems like she had been laying kinda low this season, and with the exception of consistant great campaign bookings, didn’t really ‘shine’ compared to recent years. (I love her VI covers from back in the day, and her work for Vogue Paris.) Also I think Mariacarla is about to blow up AGAIN, as she seems to do every two years or so. I want her as a Vogue Paris regular again, like she was mid 00s. MCB is the $hit, and from (un)confirmed gossip, rumors, and speculation she is about to hit the fan! (Again.)

Has she ever looked better??! My Heavens..
beyond spectacular. She is reborn -
Daria is Daria – nothing more to be said/
She has plenty of dignity thanks.
One cannot work it like she does without!
2011..honest Diversity, 1st and foremost!
2011 seems like a massive blank canvas – a chance for all to create the special and wonderous. Fashion has certainly returned with a smash – but perhaps a cooling down of the oversaturation (in mainstream terms) would suffice. As Iris Apfel stated in as many words – fashion needs some dream again, which to me translates as somehow finding a way back to mystery/collection speculation(while maintaining the recent heights of inspired design/brand management of course).

For the new year, I’d just like to see a Vogue Nippon cover and not recognize it a mile off.
PS for the record Daria is one of the few models to have such a gorgeous presence to be practically “intimidating” (hehe absolutely in a good sense)…

I really don’t like when one magazine comes in 3 different covers, let’s keep it down to one cover per number!
Also less studio-shot editorials, more models on covers and more black/asian/arab girls!

the cover is nice but pls people be real gisele have enoooooough covers and adds, why wont u wisch also the luck and chances for new models/new faces??? we have seen too much all the time the same super models and they even have enough money now and its even getting really booooring!!!…and of curse black and asia girls schould also be put on cover as well cause that not fair and for me I have noticed that the modelworld is very rassist and no I am not black!..and yeah let the models do their job and not acttress and singers do adds and covers like that.;)

Gisele is not the future. She was a great model who had a long moment in Fashion. An Icon.
I’m excited to see who will replace her.

Peter are you insane, Gisele is the past, present and future! She’s only 30 I think, she’s still got a good 10 years left in the business, and if she keeps looking like she does she’ll look better than Linda E or Christy when she gets to be their age.

its still booooring now to just see her everytimes, if its just sometimes ok but she is everywhere and I don’t think if we hate her or something like that, its just we wan’t new faces and chances to see other girls also..we know that Gisele can Do it perfect perfect and have seen her in everyside..for example when I saw Miranda doing highfaschion it was like “WOW thats new and fresch und looks good”

Gisele isn’t the Future. Enough said.
I believe Saffo (read her comments) is right.

Gisele is gorgeous generally but this cover does nothing for me. Daria same: this shot is too plain and quite frankly too naked for my liking. I think that these two supermodels aren’t the ‘Future’ though, I reckon it’s girls like Abbey Lee Kershaw, Edita Vilkeviciute, Jessica Hart, Gracie Carlvalho and Behati Prinsloo who are going to be the future in this industry. Daria, Gisele and others like Natalia, Freja and Adriana are the past.
