March 20th, 2009 Janelle comments (13)Fashion and reality merge on the pages of Vogue Paris as ubermodel, Malgosia Bela and her son Józef play well dressed mother / son duo for the magazine’s April issue.The editorial shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin features Józef looking sweet in pajamas and costumes while mamma Malgosia works it in a series of elegant gowns. The end result is a loving tribute to bond between mother and child.

looks awkward. while the mommy is posing at her model best, you have the little boy be just a little boy.. not a good clash. at least malgosia could have harmonized the look more for a higher level of visual cohesion

i agree, there is no cohesion b/w the glamour and the norm in the first 2 shots, but I like the last shot, the lack of cohesion totally works. Malgosia is like a goddess, out of a stunning ad campaign, and then there is her son, totally cute and adorable out of context. Clever.

too approachable, that’s why it doesn’t “hit it”. a son-mom relation is love, not high fashion. for a vogue paris by I+V, the story is too near for everydaylife. different clothes for the son. or different setting…just mumbling.
