Wow. That New York Times op-ed piece about retouching in the fashion industry was quite revealing. I had no idea as to the extent of retouching in fashion photos! It’s no wonder images are so ‘perfect’ in recent years. I’m no pyschologist, so I won’t debate the mental and emotional repercussions that may or may not result in people and more specifically, young girls. And I’m not even sure I’d go as far as requiring magazines to post some kind of disclosure. But I’m kind of digging that last suggestion about putting a retoucher’s credit alongside the photographer’s credit. Hmmmm.
