Collaborative Arts
July 26th, 2010 Janelle comments (16)Notice how many of F/Ws fashion ads involve collaborations with contemporary artists? Stella McCartney enlists artist Barry Reigate to illustrate the otherwise minimalist ads starring Natalia Vodianova and shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott , the cartoonish style fits with McCartney’s quirky image and is slightly reminiscent of last seasons Disneyfied ads with Sigrid Agren.

Bottega Venetta has Robert Longo all but recreate the look of his classic ‘Men In Cities’ series, only with Alla Kostromichova and Terron Wood doing all the movements.

Not to be outdone, Missoni goes all out with a mini-film by experimental filmmaker, Kenneth Anger; the bold and trippy clip (watch it in its entirety here) features Margherita Missoni and a host of others.

Bottega Veneta FTW.
I hate Missoni, it would’ve been a lot better with models in it.

wow, Kenneth Anger doing fashion ads now?! That is a huge leap from his obscure, avant garde underground filmmaking… his work is quite amazing as a filmmaker, one needs to see his films to get an appreciation of his artistry… the painting is cool, Stella ad is cute
