Greystoke

Looks like grey is the new black (again)! Lanvin‘s trio of lovelies, Magdalena Frackowiak, Mariacarla Boscono and Anja Rubik glower fiercely in gunmetal grey for Steven Meisel (read more about Lanvin’s new St. Tropez store here at WWD).  Benetton‘s casting by Michelle Lee is, as usual, divine: multi-culti with some of the freshest faces of the season. The crew, photographed by Josh Olins/styled by Clare Richardson, wears the color enhanced with silver. Hugo Boss does slate with Ben Hill and Sasha Pivovarova fronting the German brand as shot by Cedric Buchet. Looks like there’s something here for everyone in the three campaigns. What’s your favorite grey piece you’ll be picking up for fall?

  1. MariaCarla1!

I knew this ad would be great when I heard MariaCarla, Alber Elbaz and Steven Meisel together in the same sentence. Looking like a paler Jasmine Guy (in her prime), she outshines the two other girls by far, Magdalena is ok but she looks too much like Hanne and Anja looks claustrophobic, like she can’t breathe (they should’ve just cropped her out). Someone out there if you’re listening, get MariaCarla a VI cover and a Meisel solo edit.

I always love the Bennetton ads even though they are not high-fashion, because they are so diverse and reflective of how the world really looks.

  2. Interesting choice for the Hugo Boss campaign. I would have chosen Natasha Poly but whatever. Love the Lanvin campaign! Magdalena should be in the top 10!!

(p.s- now that Toni Garrn doesn’t have the Hugo Boss campaign, what will she do now? I hope she returns to the runways)

  3. I like Lanvin, but i do not love it unfortunately. Magda looks great, but the other two look out of place in comparison to her. I think i would’ve looked better if it was either Magda, Sasha & Natasha or Magda, Vlada & Anabela.
BTW, why don’t you post high fashion campaigns like Gianfranco Ferre, Isabel Marrant or new Prada and Miu Miu pics, instead of uninteresting Benetton ads?

  4. Natasha poly should do this, but I heard she’ll do an “only” girl shoot.

  5. Josh – Sasha has the HUGO by Hugo Boss campaign…it’s a different line from Toni’s (Boss Black, which has BOSS HUGO BOSS as the logo).

  6. Cedric Buchet really brought out the “SEXY” in the male model! Very HOT,HOT,HOT!!!! If I were a guy I’d wear HB thinking that sexy look just might rub off on me!!

  7. Lily Donaldson for Hugo By Hugo Boss last season was much better than this one with Sasha, I don’t like the hair. There’s something off with the Lanvin campaign, I’m not sure if it’s because Maria Carla and Anja look so out of place or if it’s just the styling, but Magdalena looks good.

  8. Benetton ad is really fresh but they should’ve had more girls then edgy looking guys but its okay! Hugo boss is edgy kinda grown up which is also why im surprise sasha is rockin it so well. But Lanvin i just love their campaign way better then last season but i don’t think anja is right for it but shes still doin her thing!

  9. Well James already said a lot of what i was thinking. i couldn’t wait to see the Lanvin ads once i heard Mariacarla. i hope she works with Meisel more!i didn’t even recognize Anja. But this was a great collection.

i really like the cast and styling for Benetton. glad to see this group of models used more then just super high fashion.

  10. I miss the Benetton images created by David Sims,
the new campaign looks like its missing something magical which Sims always captured

  11. Benetton is always the same stuff, quite annoying,Sasha is totally out of concept.Lanvin is perfect and MariaCarla reigns supreme over all,she is an Icon.

  12. The other Lanvin shoots for the FW 2010 ads are better, and Mariacarla has this sex appeal that attracts me. She is very womanly compared to the other two. And in this pic to me, oddly, it seems like Anja is wearing like a bow or headpiece of some sort.

  13. MARIACARLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
    BACK WORKING WITH MEISEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    LOVE HER,LOVE HIM,LOVE THE AD
ANJA AND MAGDA…..SORRY FOR THEM BUT U CANNOT EVEN SEE THEM,IT’S ALL ABOUT MCCCCCCCCCC

  14. Lanvin is great!!!!!!! I like a couple of the other versions even moreso. But stunning nontheless…. Anja and MC…. divine.

  15. MARIACARLA ownsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!
magdalena looks great but that’s it.
    Mariacarla is the best!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. I think in that pic Anja looks not at her best but in the others she totally is the focus of attention ..ANJA4EVER!!

  17. Steven, Alber, Mariacarla, Magdalena, Anja.. you’d expect something a little less boring than this.

  18. Anja and Magdalena.. Two, beautiful Polish girls.. Maybe in this photo session Anja looks worse than always.. but she is great..!

  19. LOVE THE LANVIN!!!!

Mariacarla is the best maybe because she is on the center!Magdalena and Anja are little boring.

    but the photo is amaizing!!!

The unic thing i have to say about BENETTON is that i love to see Luis

  20. LOVE THE LANVIN!!!!

The unic thing i have to say about BENETTON is that i love to see Luis Borges because he is from my country (Portugal).

    HUGO BOSS

Is really generic. Nothing fresh, nothing new…BORING!!!
