Fresh Direct
May 21st, 2010 Janelle comments (14)What better way to show off the latest wares from the season’s new design stars, than to put them on the backs of the most au courant models? Vogue Paris displays clothes from rising stars Mark Fast, Hakaan and Alexandre Vauthier on stunners Barbara Palvin, Hannah Holman and Imogen Newton. Shot by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Jane How, the story succeeds in making the clothes and the girls look phenomenal.

I do not believe in critisising girls as young as these. The magazine is not available so that we can make judgements on the models, or to invent a false idea of a ‘vogue paris girl’. The magazine is for the designers and their creations to be showcased to, and appreciated by, a worldwide audience.
The first image stands out for me, personally, as the lip colour complements the grey tones of the dress, and imogens eyes appear hauntingly pale, however all three are shot honestly and beautifully.
Art can be interpretted in many different ways, by different people, but critising the models themselves is intrusive and personal.

I think that Imogen and Barbara look too young for an editorial like this. or maybe its just that the clothes look really cheap.
