Burberry Blooms!

You would never know Old Man Winter is about to descend on the Northern Hemisphere with the appearance of the Burberry Spring Summer 09 ads breaking in WWD. The models? Lily Donaldson, rising star Eden Clark (fresh off of her British Vogue cover), new faces Alexina Graham and Richard Wyndham. The young and beautiful Brits lounge for Christopher Bailey and Mario Testino in a famous nursery that showcases the wearable luxury of the timeless brand.

Eden and Lily.

Lily really shines in these beautiful ads, though with the same expression.
She constantly gives good performance, which should earn her something big. Luv ya, Lily.

This campaign would feel a thousand times fresher without the presence of Lily Donaldson. I like that they’re exploring new faces like Eden and Alexina but Lily is played out.

Can Mario Testino please take a break for a year or two of shooting, please! The Boss campaign is boring and blah and so is this one. Em I the only one seeing it that way?

I have a feeling that the burberry campaigns have become a vehicle to build the careers of models, rather than focusing on the fashion brand itself. More so every season.

The clothes are just great but the art direction is starting to get a bit boring at burberry, why don’t you try smthg more twisted, more punk, the classical image of the brit establishment , i think we all got it already, some change now please!

Truman that is just what I was thinking too! I think its about time that the clients start looking into new photographers and new art directors. The campaigns that have been shown as of lately are tragic! I was also exited to see LV by Miesel but it was a let down too. There needs to be a creative change in the industry when campaigns start to look like bad cheap tests or bad look books, right?

The boy in the second photo is George Craig, the singer of the band One Night Only. To compare: http://www.bbc.co.uk/tinthepark/2008/img/626×352/one_night_only_626×352.jpg
