Prabal’s Peak

July 28th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Prabal Gurung.
Rosie Huntington Whiteley.
Daniel Jackson.

The dream team of Gurung, Huntington Whiteley and Jackson give us one of the season’s most creative campaigns. Rosie stands atop a mountain range as she poses in ultra-luxe looks from Gurung’s Nepal influenced fall collection. With their surreal colors and trippy visuals Jackson’s images are instantly memorable and exactly the kind of high drama imagery this season needs more of.

Dirty Jobs

July 28th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Odds are you probably wont see Arizona Muse toiling away at your local mechanic shop, but Vogue Paris  provides the elegant Miss Muse with a chance to put her fix-it skills to good use in a fresh story by Mark Segal. Dressed in workman standards like overalls, coveralls and plaid shirts aplenty, Arizona and the dashing Jason Anthony take turns welding, perching on toolboxes and wielding sledgehammers in Segal’s gritty yet playful imagery. Stylist Géraldine Saglio makes Muse & Anthony look natural in their gear, which lends the story and air of authenticity even though we’re sure most people don’t do their dirty work in Jean Paul Gaultier.

Crown of Fire

July 24th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Modeling holds a special place for redheads – some of fashion’s finest names have fiery locks naturally and even more have experimented with the color on a temporary basis. American Vogue pays tribute to the loveliest and most notable redheads in a special portfolio by Annie Leibovitz that features appealing gingers from the worlds of film, sport and of course modeling. With fashion’s most famous ginger Grace Coddington serving as stylist and Didier Malige (Art Partner) and Aaron de Mey (Art Partner) handling hair and makeup respectively, the editorial is a beautiful showcase for the respective stars and their crowning glories. Naturally, Karen Elson makes the list, but so does fresh face Madison Stubbington.

Stella Unzipped

July 23rd, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

The dream team of Kate Moss and Stella McCartney go together like pb & j – the duo are close friends, Moss is frequently seen wearing McCartney’s sleek earth-friendly wares on her off time and they’re close friends to boot. Moss has been the face of McCartney’s seasonal campaigns six times before so it’s unsurprising to see her in the new fall ads, but the Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (Art Partner) images keep things interesting by juxtaposing Moss in the fall collection with shots of glaciers and zippers to create an appealing collage effect.

Power Player

July 23rd, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

The red hot Anna Ewers is proving herself unstoppable with a full slate of high profile work that keeps on coming. Now the Bardot-esque beauty finds herself on the cover of Vogue Paris with an arresting shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (Art Partner) that downright sizzles. Clad in transparent wares chosen by editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt and exuding a confident sensuality beyond her years Anna looks every inch the star.

Nouveau Riche

July 22nd, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

The exploits of the idle rich have long been a fashion obsession, but Venetia Scott offers a unique take on the subject. Sinking into 70s style imagery filled with feathered hair and bright colors Scott creates a sumptuous world of luxuriant excess. By serving as both photographer and stylist, Scott is able to fully realize her vision and every element of the story merges together so well that the shots could be actual stills from a late 70s film. Sporting a firecracker red wig and looking a bit like Karen Elson’s wicked twin, Malgosia Bela serves up style as the heroine of the tale. Malgosia’s chic presence elevates every shot, making this an especially entertaining tale.

The Valentino Vibe

July 22nd, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Master photographer David Bailey (Visual Artist UK ) has created some of the most iconic fashion imagery of all time and as lensman for the newest Valentino campaign Bailey brings an appealing simplicity to the black and white portraits of elegant fresh faces. Models Harleth KuusikMaartje VerhoefIne Neefs and Josephine Van Delden look regal in Bailey’s stately portraits, showing off the pop-art influenced collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. The end result is a campaign that eschews trendiness in favor of elegance and the kind of graceful imagery that will look just as fresh decades from now.

LOVE’s 12th

July 21st, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Love Magazine and editor-in-chief Katie Grand  like to keep readers on their toes so issue 12 is filled with the unexpected. Adriana Lima brings a sultry energy to her Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin cover portrait, its flamenco feel providing a welcome playfulness to the month’s newsstand. The shoot marks the very first time Inez & Vinoodh create a cover for LOVE and the image doesn’t disappoint. The David Sims preview of Kendall Jenner whet our appetites for an all-American girl editorial and the final cover is an equally appealing shot of the beauty sporting an oversized fur hat. Last but certainly not least, multiple-Oscar nominee and new face of Max Mara, Amy Adams sheds her sweet image for a raw portrait by Juergen Teller.
