A Grand Finale

December 19th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Marc Jacobs tenure at Louis Vuitton comes to a close with a stellar campaign shot by Steven Meisel and featuring a series of the designer’s muses. Film legend Catherine Deneuve, director Sofia Coppola and actress Fan Bing Bing share space alongside models Gisele Bundchen, Edie Campbell and Caroline de Maigret in Meisel’s elegant images. Sporting Mona Lisa smiles and pieces from Jacobs’ dramatic final collection Marc’s muses each represent a facet of the Vuitton ideal. Meisel’s portraits with their refined styling by Karl Templer, exquisite makeup courtesy of Pat McGrath and chic coifs by Guido Palau imbue his subjects a regal quality and capture the essence of each woman.

Wu’s Women

December 18th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

It wouldn’t be campaign season without the sight of Jason Wu enjoying a meal with a supermodel. This season the lovely lady is Karen Elson and the locale is Indochine! Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and art directed by Patrick Li, the campaign is a winning addition to a stellar series. Clad in slinky dresses from Wu’s elegant spring showing Karen captures the allure of the Wu woman – sexy, modern and always ready for an evening on the town.

Stylist: Kate Young | Hair: James Pecis (London: D + V Management , New York: D + V Management)| Makeup: Jeanine Lobell | Mancurist: Gina Viviano

Abstraction

December 17th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Sebastian Kim and Katie Mossman get abstract for Vogue Germany with a wild fashion story that looks to art for inspiration. From Jackson Pollock’s drip paintings to Willem de Kooning’s abstract figures, the editorial takes on abstract expressionism’s masters with a series of elegantly styled portraits starring Drake Burnette. The impressive set design by Kadu Lennox and the creative selection of painterly pieces from the season’s collections – including PradaChloe and Altuzarra - take this colorful story to that next level. MASS Effect

December 17th, 2013 |Posted by models.com

Biannual fashion magazine MASSES may be based in Paris but for its second issue its focus is the eye catching beauty of our physical world. The magazine takes some of the season’s most in demand faces styled in the best brands, to stunning natural locations that range from a cave to a desert island to an unforgettable underwater locale; and haunting manmade spots from a nuclear reactor plant to a sterile hospital setting. If you’re in Europe, U.S or Japan, look for it on your local newsstand. Take an exclusive peek at the issue below and to purchase, click here.

FIRST LOOK: Scandinavia SSAW

December 16th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Last week we previewed Scandinavia SSAW Magazine‘s stunning Frida Gustavsson editorial, shot in the mountains of Norway and filled with natural beauty – that story was gorgeous but it is far from the only treat inside the issue. With a series of elegant covers featuring Scandinavian top models alongside delicate drawings of flora, the magazine sets the tone for an issue focused on eye-catching images. Whether the content skews naturalistic – as it does in Hasse Nielsen‘s cheeky ‘Nadja On A Bender’ story, or epic ala Benjamin Vnuk‘s dramatic shots of Stef Van Der Laan, each story is high quality from start to finish.

Kingdom Hart

December 16th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

It’s always great to see a magazine support homegrown talent and that’s just what you’ll see in Vogue Australia. Aussie beauty Jessica Hart is front and center on the cover and shines in multiple editorials within the issue. Will Davidson‘s sleek cover shot showcases serene side of Hart’s beauty and a seriously elegant Chanel number selected by fashion editors Jillian Davison & Christine Centenera. A second Davidson helmed story features an almost unrecognizable Jessica with short dark hair and leather looks – a complete 180 from how we usually see Jessica.

The Beyoncé Experience

December 13th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

With the release of her top secret album superstar Beyoncé Knowles may have pulled off the musical coup of the year, but it’s the all star model lineup of her accompanying videos that caught our attention. The dream team of Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman accompany Bey on the clip for her song ‘Yonce’ and the end result is every bit as sexy as you’d expect. Joan, Jourdan and Chanel aren’t the only fashion stars featured; cameos from other catwalkers abound throughout the visual album – check out Shaun Ross and Diandra Forrest in the ‘Pretty Hurts’ segment as well.

Check out the moves on Jourdan, Joan & Chanel below and see previews of the entire experience on Beyonce.com
