J.W.’s 1st

June 28th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

The allure of the unexpected has always been a part of JW Anderson‘s aesthetic and for the line’s first campaign Anderson goes for imagery with an off-kilter appeal. Shot by Jamie Hawkesworth and styled by Benjamin Bruno, art direction by Christopher Simmonds and creative direction by Jefferson Hack‘s MAD London the campaign focuses on contrasting shots of a high ponytail sporting blonde and a male model carrying the ultimate statement accessory – a severed car door. The clash of visual cues and the simple, refined photography make for a ad that feels as fresh as Anderson’s fall collection.

Lusting Over Luss

June 28th, 2013 |Posted by

Sasha Luss (and her glass-cutting cheekbones) seem to be everywhere these days- and we can’t get enough! Luss turns heads on Numeros most recent cover, and inside the magazine the spotlight is undoubtedly on her edgy editorial- showing a different side of the sophisticated model. In ‘Born to Be Wild’ Luss works the camera looking like punk-rock perfection in the artistic shoot by Anthony Maule.

Dinner for Wu

June 27th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

After Spring’s jaunt to La Grenouille with Stephanie Seymour, fall finds Jason Wu at another of New York’s venerable restaurants with a supermodel companion. The line’s sleek Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin helmed ad, art directed by Patrick Li and shot at the fabled uptown outpost of Mr. Chow features Christy Turlington and is the second in Wu’s appetizing series. In the colorful campaign shots Turlington sits perched atop a booth looking resplendent in designs from Wu’s tour de force ‘Extreme Femininity’ collection.

When asked about the Turlington collaboration Wu stated, “I’ve been so privileged to work with such talented models and women who continue to inspire me.” Turlington personifies the essence of the Wu woman- formidable, feminine, and always glamorous. Christy’s comments were just as complimentary, “I always love working with my friends Inez and Vinoodh and it was great getting to meet and spend some time with Jason.” Sounds like the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Fur Frenzy

June 26th, 2013 |Posted by

Dazed & Confused features three of our favorite up and coming models this month in a playful punk rock editorial by photographer Jeff Bark. In ‘Mad Fur It’ Joanna Tatarka, Leona Binx Walton, and Marta Dyks are styled in Fendi statement furs– a necessity this upcoming F/W 2013 season. These grungy-glam looks wouldn’t be complete without sky-high mohawks and Jeff Bark’s always unique take on beauty. Makes us miss our winter blues…
