300

Inez on her favorite models: “Raquel Zimmermann, Daria Werbowy, Kate Moss and Anja Rubik. They all have this huge range. They’re mature, they’re grown up, they’re women who have had a life and experience. For about five or six years now we haven’t shot anyone under 18 for that reason, but also for the fact that we feel that the modeling business should not promote girls working under 18. They’re not out of school, their bodies aren’t developed yet, they don’t have a sense of self yet, sometimes they haven’t had sex yet. It’s hard to project all these things on someone who hasn’t had that experience.” (from WWD)

Amen Inez. Not only are they one of the most creative and fascinating photography duos around, their views on models make us adore them even more. Their 300 photo retrospective opens today at Amsterdam’s Foam Museum. Read the rest of WWD’s interview with Inez and see who her dream subject would be.

Mysterious Skin

June 24th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Could Eniko Mihalik, be any sexier? We think not. Camilla Akrans, creates an engaging editorial for Vogue Nippon that hints at darkness beneath sensuality. A luxurious mansion, red lace masks and a knowing look in Eniko’s eyes; it all makes you wonder just what is going on behind the scenes. Once again Sissy Vian‘s styling is a standout, the crimson colored pieces look perfect on Eniko and go perfectly with the mysterious feel of the story.

Dog Day Afternoon

June 24th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Ryan McGinley and his subversive self takes the Californian beauty, Estee Lauder supermodel Carolyn Murphy and throws things at her: bottles, bowls and dog kisses. The Nowness’ exclusive film, with makeup by James Kaliardos, styling by Jay Massacret and golfish strewn hair by Kevin Ryan is a tribute to fashion as art and fun. Ms Murphy doesn’t take herself too seriously all while still looking gorgeous, which shows why she’s still at the top of her game. Go watch the short film now

YSL Muse

June 23rd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Muse pays tribute to the work of Stefano Pilati with a special all YSL editorial; the streamlined fall collection looks perfect on the back of Melissa Tammerijn, whose icy blonde looks are the perfect compliment to the austere mood of Pilati’s clothes. Kacper Kasprzyk‘s shoots the whole story in black and white, with Melissa’s hair blowing in the wind and it makes for a simple, beautiful editorial.

Anna-mation

June 23rd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Anna Jagodzinska is about as austere and classically beautiful as they come, so it is nice to see her get a little silly for an editorial. In the latest W she pouts, primps and poses her way through a beauty editorial by Craig McDean while wearing the season’s new makeup looks by Diane Kendal.
