Combat Rock

February 22nd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

The theme of March’s Vogue Paris, revolves around military influenced styles, so it is no surprise that a number of the editorials inside have an down in the trenches feel. Cedric Buchet drafts Eniko Mihalik for an army influenced editorial that shows off some interesting styling, courtesy of Anastasia Barbieri: working with a palate of khakis and greens, Barbieri manages to create looks that are perfectly in line with the motif.

Interview with a Vamp

February 19th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Whenever Lara Stone works with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the pictures are phenomenal, so when we heard the trio was teaming up for the cover of Interview Magazine, we knew we were in for a treat. The images, styled by Ludivine Poiblanc, are just as sexy and daring as we thought they’d be and as an added bonus, Lara is also interviewed by none other than Marc Jacobs.

The Feminine Mystique

February 18th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

There is something about the way Mario Sorrenti creates a picture that just brings out the best in his subjects. In the latest issue of W, Sorrenti takes 18 of the most beautiful models and shoots them looking seductive and sensual: some of the pictures work better than others but he manages to capture the essence of each girl.

Rose In Bloom

February 17th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Vogue Paris continues to break the mold, its March cover features an arresting shot of Rose Cordero, looking regal in Vuitton. The cover is the perfect tribute to Spring’s military inspired looks and Rose has never looked better than in these Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott‘s stylized images. In addition, Rose is also the first black model to get a solo cover of Vogue Paris since Liya Kebede back in 2002, which makes this cover a landmark.

New & Improved

February 16th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Great casting makes the story, Vogue is always filled with familiar faces, but the ones that stand out most are the first timers. This month several girls make their debut: Steven Meisel‘s ladylike editorial boasts American Vogue first timers, Freja Beha Erichsen, Mirte Maas and Rianne Ten Haken (who returns to the pages of Vogue six years after her last appearance in 2004) alongside Wintour favorites like Karlie Kloss, Liya Kebede and Lara Stone. The photography is excellent and Grace Coddington provides her quintessential stylist’s touch but the girls are what make this story worthwhile.

It’s Official!

Arthur Sales. Ph: Milan Vukmirovic for L’Officiel Hommes S/S 10

L’Officiel, that is.. Arthur Sales, the 19 year old Brazilian beauty has 200 pages and the cover of the latest L’Officiel Hommes. Milan Vukmirovic’s last couple of special issues devoted to solo young men were Jon Kortajarena and Andres Velencoso Segura, models with super staying power. Carrying a whole magazine requires an engaging intensity, chameleon like beauty and the ability to model one’s socks off. Looks like there’s a new sheriff in town.
