Seduce & Destroy

April 27th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Everyone knows that Jamie Bochert can masterfully pull off any look that requires something dark and brooding but it’s always a pleasure to see something softer from her. For Vogue Russia Jamie plays seductress in some of the season’s most subtly sensual creations. Angelo Pennetta shoots her every move as she dances across the page. Though this is a look is more delicate than what were used to seeing from Jamie she still retains a hint of danger.

Devon Aoki gets playful for Vogue Nippon. Donning cat ears and a seductive attitude Devon vamps it up for Camilla Akrans‘ camera. While Devon is known for being the personification of youthful prettiness, she lets her saucy side show with this editorial. Devon’s innate sophistication takes what could be a typical “sexy” editorial and gives it a bit of class – she even manages to make Alexander Wang’s leave little to the imagination black minidress look flirtatious rather than salacious.

Individual Allure

Tank is a magazine that consistently surprises with it’s model selection so it was quite a pleasant thrill to see the striking face of Kangana Dutta on the latest cover. Fashion devotees may remember Kangana from the launch issue of Vogue India where she posed alongside fellow catwalkers Gemma Ward and Lakshmi Menon. For Tank the haunting beauty looks pensive in sleek creations from the likes of McQueen and Calvin Klein as photographer Tarun Khiwal shoots.

As the industry slowly but surely begins to diversify it’s refreshing to see models who truly look like no one else working right now.

Singular Sensation

Sigrid. Sigrid. Sigrid… What is there left to say really? Sigrid Agren is simply put the most coveted girl of the moment. A slew of F/W 09 campaigns already in work, a very special interview with Karl and now an only girl story in Numero by none other than Greg Kadel. The vibe of the story is very back to nature – lots of hazy autumnal colors and breezy outfits, all enhanced by Agren’s languid allure.

Geoffroy Jonckheere may have one of the tongue-twistiest names in the biz but that hasn’t stopped this young man from becoming one of the most requested faces around. See his dual eyewear ads running right now for YSL and Armani Jeans. The combination of an elegant profile and stop-you-in-your-tracks blue eyes makes for a splendidly winning combination. More to definitely come.

Caroline Ribeiro‘s exotic good looks made her a favorite of every designer from Tom Ford to Valentino. The quintessential 90s girl is back this month between the pages of Wonderland looking stunning. Ribeiro delves into her dark side while Dan Martenson photographs her in smoky black and white. The cigar and cowboy hat picture might be a bit much but Caroline proves that she’s still got it.

At Home With Helena

April 24th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

In addition to being a supermodel and established photographer Helena Christensen is known for her strong sense of style. Nowhere is this more evident than in her own apartment which boasts an eclectic mix of art, personal keepsakes and of course fashion memorabilia. The Danish beauty shares a glimpse at her downtown loft with Vogue Paris and the interiors are just as bohemian and unique as you’d expect from a model as artistically-minded as Helena.
