First Look: Document Journal

April 29th, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

The soon-to-be-out S/S ’16 issue of Document Journal is a who’s who of the here and now, and if the 8 covers fronted by fashion’s royalty like Hedi Slimane and Grace Coddington didn’t tip you off, then here’s the inside to take you there. Between the amusing and uncommon imaginings of collaborators like Willy Vanderperre and Olivier RizzoColin Dodgson and Joe McKennaRoe Ethridge and Robbie Spencer to the pleasurably picturesque–like Coco Capitan‘s unassuming take on Lena Hardt or Venetia Scott‘ suburban-backdropped portraits styled by Sarah Richardson, there’s probably nowhere better to be. Starting now, Richardson will be the magazines new fashion director. Casting goes full out too, to good effect thanks to Piergiorgio Del Moro and Samuel Ellis Scheinman: models Stella TennantRianne van RompaeyAlice MetzaEstella Boersma plus more, use their respective demand to bring the issue to the far side of choicest. See below an exclusive Models.com preview of the issue before it hits stands.

Document Journal will be on sale the first week of May exclusively at Dover Street New York, BookMarc New York, Iconic Magazines New York, Dover Street London, Broken Arm Paris, Colette, 0FR Paris and 10 Corso Como Milan, and available worldwide the following week. Preorder copies at documentjournal.myshopify.com.

Out of the Fold

April 29th, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

The limited edition publication Centrefold Magazine releases its latest: a visual anthology of both established and emerging talents in a neatly printed package. Flouting glossy convention, Centerfold aims its pages at the photographic purists who find repose in the place between fashion and art. This issue’s list of likeminded collaborators reassures that it’s in good hands–like photographers Driu Crilly & Tiago Martel, Chad Moore, and Andrew G Hobbs (Centerfold’s founder) and stylist Katie Burnett and Benoit Bethume, plus more. See below an exclusive preview of the issue.

Ladies in Vogue

April 28th, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Rianne van Rompaey and Julia Bergshoeff for Vogue Paris. What else? Patrick Demarchelier (Art + Commerce) manages to make the two modern beauties look beyond their best. Julia wears a pretty pixie (A wig. We’re almost sad to see it go) while Rianne’s hair is teased to great proportions to equally impress, both courtesty of Duffy. Dressing the two lovely ladies, stylist Suzanne Koller completes the picture putting them in perfect pairings from this season’s pre-collections. Enduringly Iconic

April 26th, 2016 |Posted by models.com

2016 marks fifty years since Hans Feurer decided to pick up a camera and it’s quite fitting that his latest editorial appears in Vogue Paris’s May issue since quite a few of his most memorable photos were shot for the Vogues. Feurer’s timeless style is instantly recognizable and it’s easy to see his influence on many of the photographers coming up through the ranks today. The story called ‘Freedom’ reflects the current trend of unpretentious styling paired with beauty and Isabeli Fontana gets the full Feurer treatment coming off as the beautiful woman she is, completely comfortable not only in her surroundings but in her own skin. To see the whole story, pick up Vogue Paris, on the newsstands now.

Dazed’s Power Play

April 22nd, 2016 |Posted by Irene Ojo-Felix

2016’s most striking figures are championing power and protest and Dazed is commemorating this vital moment with five covers. Abbey Lee, Anohni, Anna Ewers, Grace Wales Bonner, and Paul Hameline are lensed by photographers Paolo Roversi, Willy Vanderperre, Torbjorn Rodland, and Harley Weir in a series of disruptive truth-telling. The covers arrive at a time when finding strength through self-determination has never been more public. Go inside the Spring/Summer issue and visit themes of ‘women supporting women’, ‘abuse’, ‘self-reliance’ and ‘love’ through the eyes of fashion’s newest elite.

First Look: METAL

April 22nd, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For its 10 year anniversary METAL Magazine shows no signs of showing age in its present-day appeal. The independent publication’s 35th issue celebrates the birthday by highlighting the young and the rising. Its double covers feature two painterly models of the moment Cierra Skye and Varya Shutova, photographed simply by Maurizio Bavutti. Inside, the editorials operate Metal’s signature alternative fashion frequency with a medley of slick visuals: Markus Pritzi quietly captures rosy-cheeked youth, Wai Lin Tse gets inspired by Aniek Klapwijk’s rare features and Raffaele Cariou theatrically plays with light and shadow. Take an exclusive look inside the issue before it hits stands.

Bad Girls Club

April 18th, 2016 |Posted by Irene Ojo-Felix

Bad girls do it better in the latest i-D Magazine‘s “Rising Up” issue. Daniel Jackson dials up the edge in these rock steady visuals that are heavy in moody attitude. Skin meets skin as Damaris Goddrie, Cai Lee, Imaan Hammam, Aamito Lagum, & Dilone are clad in leather pieces from Saint Laurent, Alexander Wang, and Lanvin styled by Ludivine Poiblanc. Individualism continues to shine through as beauty team Esther Langham and Francelle Daly embrace the girls natural curls and waves with an elevated look of smudged, smoky eyes and highlighted skin.

Take a peek below!
